Today is the last complete day in Luxembourg considering that tomorrow we will pass the border into France. We now drive to Dudelange and park the car at the train stop Dudelange-Burange. We draw a ticket out of the machine and within minutes the train arrives. It is only 1 stop to Bettembourg from where we take the bus to Mondorf to the bus stop where we took the bus to Remich yesterday. Again we buy our breakfast in the local bakery and hit the road.

The trail follows the stream Gander at the French side and occasionally climbs away from the steam. The main part of the track is unpaved which is quite a relief compared to yesterday. However, in Aspelt we loose track, literally. Up to the crossing with the N13 we see GR5 signs but from there we cannot find any sign in any direction. So we have to fall back to the GPS track though this will lead us along the CR156 in the direction of Frisange. While leaving Aspelt there is some traffic but soon enough it gets quieter. Neverthless walking along a main road without sidewalk is not our favourite.

In Frisange we cross the main road and go straight ahead on a little road that soon becomes a forest track and that's the way we like it. The fun is shortter than we hoped for: at the other side of the patch of forest we end up again on a main tarmac road that we have to walk along for 1.5 kms to Hellange. And this road is busy!

In Hellange we encounter a new problem. Lupita would actually like to visit the bathroom and so we have to look for a bar or so. It appears there isn't any....we walk to the right along the main road since it seems most houses are there, but we can't find anything. Eventually we pass a house under construction and ask the only present construction worker where we can find a bar or restaurant. That is not even that easy because the man is Portuguese and speeks no English or German and hardly any French. But in Spanish we manage to communicate and indeed, there is nothing. A petrol station maybe? There is one, but in the direction that we came from and then a few 100m further. Ok, so we walk there and fortunately the petrol station has a (clean!) toilet and sells some stuff to eat and drink. Good!

After this altogether 1.8 kms detour we're back on the GR5. But hardly off the main road there is some confusion. The trail-with-the-yellow-circles stops here and we have to continue on the Southern trail: the trail-with-the-yellow-triangles. However, the map next to the road here shows a different direction than the signs with the yellow triangles. We decide to follow the signs and cross the A13 motorway along a little tarmac road that we follow in the direction of the forest.

In the forest we have to make a considerable loop to be able to cross the motorway Luxembourg - Metz but it is a rather pleasant walk so we don't consider it a problem. At the other side of the motorway it is tarmac again. Along the outer edge of Dudelange was walk in northern direction until we really enter a residential zone. We have to hold on a bit walking along streets and then we are at the train stop Dudelange-Burange. Finally! It is sweaty hot and we're glad we made it...
