Le Leman a la Vanoise

We started the section from Lake Geneva to the Vanoise in the summer of 2019 and we had planned to get to Les Houches, close to the Mont Blanc. Unfortunately the weather was very unstable and so we didn't want to take the risk of making reservations for mountain huts long time in advance with the possibility to have to walk in the rain. But late reservations mean the huts can be full......and that is exactly what happened. We made it to Samoëns but after that the huts, especially Moëde-Anterne was so full that even bivouac was not allowed anymore, and this was the case for over a week. Hence, we couldn't go any further that was it for 2019. In 2020 we had our doubts whether we could continue because of the covid-19 outbreak, but finally we found 2 weeks in September to walk from Samoëns to Landry and thus finishing this section. |
